Abstract
Introduction: Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are the main causes of work related injuries and disabilities in developed as well as developing countries. Few studies have considered different interactive effects of individual and work-related factors on MSDs, simultaneously. Methods and Materials: Data were gathered by Nordic questionnaire and Quick Exposure Check (QEC) method and were analyzed using logistic regression model in order to study the correlation between the prevalence and intensity of MSDs and individual and work-related factors. Results: More than half of all participants (61.6%) reported suffering from one form of MSDs during the past 6 months. Results showed that risk factors such as work stress, sleeping position, lifestyle and poor posture had an important role in the prevalence and intensity of MSDs. Discussion: The effect of a risk factor is constantly in interaction with other risk factors, and is modified by other factors. Participatory ergonomic intervention programs, work station intervention, ergo stress intervention and life-style interventions were suggested in order to decrease the prevalence and intensity of MSDs.

Abstract
Introduction: In many
sensitive and sophisticated workplaces, human errors are very important. Many
events occur annually around the world is evidence to confirm error due to the
data processing operators. The main goal of this study was to investigate human
information processing models and workload demands on human operators, then
developing a regression model for this purpose.
Material and Methods: This was a case study. Task analysis of control room
members, including shift supervisor, board man, and site man and user
instrumentation in this study was investigated. Data collection was performed
by interviewing employees using a questionnaire with two parts the first part
was the model of human information processing and the second part was workload
NASA–TLX and an appendix of opinions existing staffing level and finally task
analysis performed using SPSS 16 – SPSS.
Results: There was a correlation between workload and stages of
human information processing model such as perception )r=0.65, p<0.01), vocal response (r=0.45, p<0.01)
and manual response (r=0.15, p<0.05). Some effective factors on workload
were vocal response (β=0.232, p=0.033) and perception (β=0.576, p=0.00). The
most important factors in the analysis of anticipation staffing demand were
perception (β=2.514, p=0.008), workload (β=1.57, p=0.018) and vocal responses
(β=2.428, p=0.01), respectively.
Discussion and Conclusion: Increasing
concentration and attention and perception skills using psychological measures
including decreasing the workload and stress and holding specialized training
courses are necessary.

Abstract
Introduction: The introduction of a
thematic framework is necessary for the field of ergonomics and human factors.
Content analysis is a useful tool for the trend analysis and distribution of
published articles however, reports on the content analysis of ergonomics
journals are rare. The present study was conducted to identify research trends
in the journal of Human Factors through a content analysis of its recent
articles published over the past ten years (2005-2014).
Materials and Methods: The present study used
the directed content analysis method. Two analysis experts classified 741
articles based on their thematic codes. A conceptual framework was used to
perform the content analysis. EXCEL 2007 and SPSS-19 were used for the data
preparation, theme distribution and trend analysis of the published themes.
Results: From the total of 21
themes extracted, six themes defined over 50% of the variance in the published
articles, including “Biomechanics, Anthropometry and Work Physiology",
"Display and Control Design", "Surface Transportation Systems",
"Cognitive Processes", "Attentional Processes" and
"Sensory, Perceptual and Psychomotor Processes". The journal had a
special focus on "Biomechanics, Anthropometry and Work Physiology"
(about 12%).
Conclusion: The thematic framework
and distribution pattern noticed in this study can be used for planning
education and research on human factors and ergonomics in universities,
research centers and related organizations.

Abstract
Introduction: Metro driving is one of the newest jobs in Iran. Due to the lack of studies about train drivers’ workload, there is no comprehensive information about factors that effect workload. This study aimed at analyzing the factors that may effect driver workload, in order to recommend control measures.
Methods: In this mixed method study, data generation was done through field observations, document reviews, individual interviews, focus group interviews, and focus group discussions. In order to perform field data collection, the institute for occupational ergonomics and CCD Design and Ergonomics Ltd’s developed tools were used. Directed content analysis was used for qualitative data analysis.
Results: Overall, 65 factors were extracted as the factors that may effect driver workload. The extracted factors were drawn on a fishbone diagram, over 8 categories, including management, supervision and organizational climate, infrastructure, job design, journey, and environmental as distal factors and time pressure, information exchanges, and individual factors as proximal factors.
Conclusions: Some of the distal factors are the nature of an urban transport system, so the only amendment is compensatory programs, and some of them could be resolved by long-term plans. Workload of train drivers could be reduced with a focus on the proximal factors in the short-term, and the distal factors in the long-term.

Abstract
Background and Objectives: Increasing the retention of health care workers in the context of Covid-19 expansion is one of the most important challenges for the health care systems. To design a strategy to maintain health care workers, it is necessary to identify the factors influencing willingness to work or leave the job among health care workers. This study aimed to identify the factors affecting the willingness to work or leave the job among health care workers during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Methods: To identify relevant publications, the online Databases including Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science, and ProQuest were searched on October 20, 2020. Based on the inclusion criteria, only studies that investigated the factors influencing willingness to work or motivation to leave the job among health care workers during the Covid-19 pandemic were included.
Results: Of the 610 studies found through searching, after deleting similar and unrelated studies, a number of 10 cross-sectional articles with a sample size of 15834 subjects were selected. Obtained findings indicated that the willingness to work among health care workers ranged from 61% to 98.7% and averaged 83.5%. The results of studies showed that job factors such as work experience, previous work experience in emergency time or Covid-19, workload, cooperation between employees, the relationship between employees and managers, access to personal protective equipment, and welfare facilities were significantly proportional to the willingness of health care workers to work.
Conclusion: The results of this study showed to design a strategy to maintain the health care workers during the Covid-19 pandemic, a broad range of occupational and psychological variables should be considered. Due to the limited number and quality of studies and the extent of influential variables, more studies are needed in this field.

Abstract
Objectives: The comfort questionnaire for hand tools (CQH) is a subjective measure for exploring the starting points for improving hand tool design. This study aimed to investigate the psychometric properties of the Farsi version of the CQH.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, which was conducted among 163 university students, the 17-question CQH was translated into Farsi with a translation back-translation procedure. Content validity was assessed by a panel of 10 experts. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) was applied for determining construct validity. Cronbach’s alpha and Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) were used for assessing internal consistency and test-retest reliability, respectively. Ceiling and floor effects were also estimated for evaluating the feasibility of the measure.
Results: The CQH showed good content validity. Content validity index (CVI) ranged from 0.80 to 1.00 and Content Validity Ratio (CVR) ranged 0.62-1.00. EFA led to extraction of two factors from the data. The first one was mostly related to functionality and physical interaction and the second one, was generally about adverse body effects. The Cronbach’s alpha was 0.74 and test-retest reliability was 0.74 (95% CI = 0.58 to 0.86) which both were satisfactory. There were no (0%) ceiling and floor effects.
Conclusion: The Farsi version of CQH is an acceptable and useful instrument for evaluating hand tools comfort.

Abstract
Objectives: Scientometrics is a research field that examines and analyzes scientific trends and patterns in various scientific journals. This study aims to analyze the content of articles published in the Journal of Applied Ergonomics in the last ten years and determine the distribution pattern of the articles according to the themes extracted.
Methods: Using the method of directed content analysis, the number of 2,148 articles published in the last 10 years were extracted from the "Journal of Applied Ergonomics" website and categorized according to the topic, the nationality of the authors, and the year of publication. For the topic categories of articles, the existing categories of published articles and the topic tree schema of the article submission website of selected international journals were used. EXCEL 2021 software was used for data preparation and analysis.
Results: Among the twenty-two extracted topics, three main topics, including "Physio-psychological Status and Occupational Factors," "Human-machine interaction, Human-computer interaction", and "Ergonomic product and service design" elucidated approximately 50% of the variance in published articles in this reputable journal under study. Among these, there was a particular emphasis on the topic of "Physio-psychological status and occupational factors." The subjects of "Physio-psychological status and occupational factors," "Human-machine interaction," and "Human-computer interaction" have had an upward trend in recent years. Moreover, authors from the United States of America, with 25.84% frequency, have contributed the most to the publication of articles in this Journal.
Conclusion: The thematic framework and distribution patterns extracted in this study can contribute to the educational and research planning in the field of professional health for universities, research centers, and relevant organizations. These findings can guide strategic decisions and support targeted efforts to advance ergonomic practices and the dissemination of knowledge within the field.

Abstract
Objectives: This research aimed to design and validate an integrated model for soft skills development, integrating technology-driven empowerment with cognitive ergonomics principles.
Methods: This study employed a mixed-methods approach with a sequential exploratory design. In the qualitative phase, in-depth interviews were conducted with 18 academic experts and senior bank managers selected through purposive sampling, and the data were analyzed using thematic analysis. In the quantitative phase, which employed a descriptive-survey design, the conceptual model derived from the qualitative phase was tested using a researcher-developed questionnaire on a sample of 395 employees from the headquarters and branches of Bank Refah Kargaran. Data analysis and model evaluation were performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) in AMOS (version 26).
Results: The qualitative analysis led to the identification of four main themes and twenty‑eight sub‑themes, forming the model's dimensions: technology-based empowerment, cognitive ergonomics considerations, contextual and organizational factors, and integrated soft skills development. The quantitative results indicated a good model fit, with all three predictors exerting positive and significant effects on soft skills development. Among them, contextual and organizational factors had the most substantial impact (β = 0.45).
Conclusion: These findings highlight the necessity of adopting a systemic perspective that recognizes the interplay among humans, technology, and organizational structures. They demonstrate that successful employee empowerment requires simultaneous attention to technological tools and cognitive ergonomics principles.

Abstract
Background and Objective: Hospital environments, due to the nature of their services, are considered among the most stressful work environments, which pose a serious challenge to the mental health of employees. This study was conducted with the aim of designing and testing a structural model of psychological well-being among the clinical and administrative staff of Milad Hospital in Tehran. Given the study's focus on a specialized medical center, the results are more generalizable to similar hospital environments, and caution should be exercised in generalizing them to other sectors of the healthcare system.
Methods: This study employed a mixed-methods (sequential exploratory) approach. In the qualitative phase, using interpretive phenomenology and 16 in-depth interviews with experts, the main goal of this study was to examine the impact of living environments, analyzed using MAXQDA 2020. In the quantitative phase, based on the qualitative findings, a 30-item questionnaire was developed and distributed among 300 hospital employees. Data analysis and fitting of the final model were performed using Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modeling (CB-SEM) in LISREL 8.8 software.
Results: In the qualitative phase of the study, three main themes—personality traits, psychological capital, and job stress—were identified, along with a total of 30 sub-themes. The results of the quantitative model testing indicated that the conceptual model demonstrated a good fit (χ²/df = 2.36, CFI = 0.93, RMSEA = 0.063). The findings confirmed that psychological capital (β = 0.48) and personality traits (β = 0.41) had positive and significant effects, while job stress (β = -0.33) had a negative and significant effect on psychological well-being (p < 0.001).
Conclusion: The results of this study emphasize the necessity of moving from approaches merely based on efficiency and performance control (tool-based management) toward human-centered approaches in healthcare human resource management.
