Abstract

Introduction: Since faculty members are among the most important assets of higher education institutions, surveying and identifying factors associated with these sources that can be effective on their performance and stress have gained increasing importance. Accordingly, the present study was conducted to survey the relationship between personal accountability and job performance considering the mediating effect of skills and job stress among employees of the University of Shiraz.

Methods: The statistical population of this study consisted of all of Shiraz University staff who had high school diploma, which included 726 individuals. A sample of 256 persons was chosen using stratified random sampling method. The research method was descriptive-correlative. Data were collected using Hochwarter et al. (2005) accountability, job performance (1990) of Paterson, House and Rizzos (1972) Job tension and political skills, and Ferris et al. (2005) satisfaction standard questionnaires. The structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to study the relationship between the latent variables and the measured ones in conceptual model.

Results: The results showed that job performance was affected by personal accountability; employees who had political skills had more accountability, which significantly affected their job performance. Job tension had a significant negative correlation with job performance.

Conclusions: According to the results, political skills and job tension affected the relationship of individuals accountability with job performance. The results put emphasis on the necessity of reassessing the mediating roles of political skills and job tension in surveying the causal relationships of accountability with job performance.

Abstract

Background and Objectives: The ethic-based culture is the predictor of ethical behavior and organizational citizenship behavior. Ethical culture enhances our awareness of our activities and can also increase our awareness of our bilateral commitments to the organization and therefore focus on what is important in an organizational setting. The present research aimed at investigating the relationship between the ethical culture with a tendency to ethical behavior and organizational citizenship behavior by examining the mediating role of the person’s organization in the staff of Urmia University.
Methods: This descriptive correlation study is a structural equation modeling model. The statistical population of this study consisted of all 503 high school graduates of Urmia University in 2018. Based on the stratified random sampling method, 217 individuals were selected. Standard questionnaires were used to collect information. Data analysis was performed using descriptive indexes and structural equation modeling method.
Results: Based on the results there is a positive and significant relationship between ethical culture with ethical behavior and organizational citizenship behavior. Also, the direct and significant impact of ethical culture on the individual-organizational adaptability was confirmed. The results also showed that the individual-organizational adaptability has a positive and significant relationship with ethical and organizational citizenship behaviors. In addition, the role of mediation of this variable (individual-organizational adaptability) in the relation between the ethical culture with two other variables (ethical and organizational citizenship behaviors) was also confirmed based on the findings of the research.
Conclusion: Based on the findings, it can be concluded that ethical culture directly promotes personal-organizational fit. In addition, confirming the mediating role of the individual-organization fit ethical culture has an indirect, positive and significant effect on ethical behavior and organizational citizenship behavior.

Abstract

Background & Objectives: Ethical atmosphere and burnout of employees is an important issue for the management of the organization and management should play a key role in improving the performance of employees and the organization. The present study aimed to model the structural relationship between ethical atmosphere and emotional exhaustion with job satisfaction and turnover intention.
Methods: The present study is an applied research in terms of purpose and descriptive-correlational in terms of the data collection method. The statistical population includes 125 employees of the West Azerbaijan Gas Company who were surveyed by census method. The data collection tool was a questionnaire. Confirmatory factor analysis and Cronbach's alpha method were used to evaluate the validity and reliability of measuring instruments. Structural equation modeling using Smart PLS software was done to analyze the data.
Results: The results of the determined coefficients showed that the ethical atmosphere was able to explain more than 22% of the changes in emotional exhaustion. Also, emotional exhaustion can explain more than 44% of the changes in job satisfaction and 18% of the changes in the desire to leave the job. The coefficient of morale's impact on job satisfaction with emotional exhaustion was also 0.07. And the impact coefficient of the ethical atmosphere on the desire to leave the job with an emotional exhaustion was also -0.09.
Conclusion: Improving the ethical atmosphere of the organization and reducing the emotional burnout of employees leads to job satisfaction and commitment of employees, and as a result, the performance of employees and the organization improves.

Abstract

Background & Objectives: Nurses, as the largest source of manpower, have a special place in medical affairs and their performance is defined as an effective activity with direct patient care, so it is necessary to study the factors affecting their performance. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the role of work-related psychological components in relation to organizational factors affecting nurses' job performance.
Methods: This research is a descriptive-correlational study of structural equations according to the data collection method. The statistical population of the present study includes all nurses of Seyed Al-Shohada (AS) Hospital in Urmia, Iran (n=265). Using Krejcie and Morgan table, 155 people were selected as a statistical sample using the Relative stratified random sampling method. A questionnaire was used to collect information and after calculating the validity and reliability of the instruments, descriptive and inferential analysis of the data was performed using SPSS 22 and PLS 3 software.
Results: The results of data analysis showed that organizational values, communication satisfaction and charismatic leadership with t-values ​​greater than 1.96 (P value<0.05) mediated by psychological factors have a positive and significant effect on nurses' job performance.
Conclusion: Values, goals, leadership, and communication are factors that go beyond a specific situation and create a sense of satisfaction and performance improvement. Managers increase the ability and capability of nurses by clearly explaining the goals and creating a suitable atmosphere for expressing views, by participating in the affairs of the sense of commitment and ownership, and by holding training courses, and provide the possibility for improving their performance.

Abstract

Objectives: Improving employees’ welfare and supporting them has led to the success of the organization. Employees who feel supported by the company will work harder to improve their output and meet the objectives of the company. Finding factors affecting employee well-being has helped organizations to improve performance and achieve success. Therefore, this research has sought to test a model of causal factors affecting employees' well-being with the mediation of self-efficacy among the employees of Razi University of Kermanshah.
Methods: The current applied research was conducted using a descriptive-survey method for data collection. The data collection tool was a questionnaire, which was examined for face validity, convergent validity, and differential validity of the variables. Data analysis was done using a structural equation modeling approach with a partial least squares method through Smart PLs3 software. The statistical population (n=490) included all employees of Razi University of Kermanshah, among whom, 215 individuals were selected as a sample using Morgan's table.
Results: The findings showed that perceived organizational support and role ambiguity were effective on employees' well-being both directly and through the mediation of self-efficacy.
Conclusion: According to the research findings, it can be concluded that ambiguity in employee roles lead to higher emotional burnout and lower well-being, while perceived organizational support can enhance both work engagement and well-being.
