Abstract

Introduction: Lighting affects many non-visual functions such as Circadian rhythm, alertness, core body temperature, hormone secretion and sleep. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of lighting on human cognitive and mental performance.
Methods: In this systematic review, databases including ISI Web of Knowledge, Scopus, PubMed and Science Direct were searched to access the relevant studies. The search was performed using the keywords "Lighting" and "Illumination" and "Cognitive Performance", "Mental Performance", "Memory ", "Attention", and "Concentration" by title, keyword and abstracts of articles published in mentioned databases from 2010 to 2016.
Results: Lighting affects human cognitive performance in three areas of psycho-cognitive (visual comfort, visual perception, color recognition, identification of symbols, attention, working memory, learning, reaction time and brain function), biocognitive area (alertness, mood, vitality, subjective feelings, motivation, well-being and quality of sleep) and mental workload (amount of workload, psychological stress, and mental fatigue). The best light to regulate cognitive, biological (circadian rhythm) and mental processes is bright daylight in the morning with a short wavelength (wavelength 420-480 nm) and high intensity (1000lx).
Conclusions: Lighting design in addition to providing comfort and visual needs should provide the non-visual and cognitive needs such as attention, alertness, mood, sleep quality and decrease mental fatigue and eventually well-bing.

Abstract

Background: Exposure to hand-arm vibration is one of the most common physical harmful factors. The purpose of this study was Experimental study of  the level of manual performance disability caused by exposure to hand-arm vibration among automobile casting workers.
 Methods: This study was performed on 53 casting workers as case group and 28 controls as
control group. The measurement of the vibration of the worker's arms and hands was carried out in accordance with the ISO 5349 standard. The level of manual performance disability was evaluated using skeletal-muscular, sensory-neural and vascular tests. Also, a questionnaire was used for the level of disability of the arm, shoulder and hand DASH. Data were analyzed using SPSS16 software.
 Results: The 8-hour vibration exposure was 8.33 m / s2 (4.49), which is exceeded the permissible level. Skill and dexterity, fingers and grip strength of the dominant hand in the case group were decreased by 4%, 13.3%
and 11%, respectively (p <0.05). The regeneration time of the dominant hand in the case group was 41.2% higher than the control group (p <0.05). Sensory-neurological complications increased in the case group compared to the control group, however, it was not statistically significant. The DASH score in the case group was 10.7 (13.4) and the control group was 4.1 (5.1).
 Conclusion: Hand-arm manual performance disability in workers exposed to vibration decreased from 4% to 14%, which confirmed the DASH score. In addition, workers showed a higher level of vascular complications compared with sensory-neurological complications.

Abstract

Introduction: Many organizational, social, and personal factors can affect safety performance of employees. Personal commitment to safety is another factor in this regard to which has been paid less attention in previous studies. The main objective of the present study is to investigate the role of this factor in shaping safety performance of employees.  
Materials & Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted among 302 workers from several small manufacturing industries in several provinces located in the center of Iran. Data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire. In order to determine the role of personal commitment to safety, several hypotheses were defined. According to them, personal commitment to safety can mediate the effect of organizational factors on safety performance. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed for examining the hypotheses. 
Results: The model demonstrated that personal commitment to safety has significant direct effect on safety performance. Management commitment to safety is the main factor affecting personal commitment to safety (P<0.01, path coefficient= 0.257). Supportive environment was another important factor in this regard (P<0.01, path coefficient= 0.175). In contrast, safety training had no significant effect on personal commitment to safety (P=0.328), demonstrating its poor designing. 
Conclusion: Personal commitment to safety can be promoted by improving organization and social factors, such as management commitment to safety and supportive environment, which in turn would result in improvement of safety performance.

Abstract

Background & Objectives: Each organization needs to provide an environment that is smooth, tensile, comfortable and affordable with appropriate physical and emotional conditions for each employee, a safe and relaxed working environment, so that they can work best with a sense of job satisfaction. The present study examines the ergonomic conditions of libraries in public universities in Ahwaz and its impact on job satisfaction and librarians.
Methods: This research is descriptive and has been surveyed. The population of the study consisted of 84 librarians of Shahid Chamran Universities and Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences who participated in the study census. To evaluate ergonomic conditions, a questionnaire was extracted from ergotools software, job satisfaction survey from Arenson et al. Scale and job evaluation questionnaire by Faraj Pahloo, Nooshin Fard and Hasanzadeh. Relationships between research variables were investigated using structural equation modeling.
Results: The results showed that there is a direct, positive and significant relationship between ergonomic conditions and job satisfaction, job satisfaction and job performance, and ergonomic conditions and job performance. There is also a positive and significant indirect relationship between ergonomic conditions and job performance due to job satisfaction.
Conclusion: All relationships between the variables examined were confirmed. Therefore, ergonomic conditions are effective both directly and through the job satisfaction of librarians’ job performance. Considering the positive and direct relationship, it can be said that the librarians of the public universities’ libraries of Ahwaz are pleased with better ergonomic conditions and show better job performance.

Abstract

Background and Objectives: Mental fatigue is a condition triggered by prolonged cognitive activity. Mental fatigue causes brain over-activity. This is a condition where the brain cells become exhausted, hampering person productivity, and overall cognitive function. The aim of this study was to assess students’ mental fatigue using brain indices.
Methods: The present descriptive - analytic study has been conducted on 20 students of the Faculty of Health mean age (SD) of 24.40 (3.73) years old in Ahwaz University of Medical Sciences (2019). To assess the performance of the participants, they were asked to study a text with spelling errors and correct those errors. This activity was performed in five stages, each lasting 15 min and EEG was recorded at all stages, and at each stage, the visual analog scale was completed by participants. Data analysis was done by SPSS 24.
Results: The results showed that the activity of alpha, beta, and theta signals in the first 15 minutes was 0.89±0.30, 0.70±0.33, and 1.19±0.36, and the last 15 minutes, 0.63±0.34, 0.55±0.26, and 1.03±0.34 respectively. Reducing the activity of the signals indicated there has been an increase in the amount of mental fatigue in individuals. Also, using visual analog scale, the individuals have acknowledged that they have experienced symptoms of mental fatigue. Finally, there was no significant relationship between students’ EEG and visual analog scale.
Conclusion: The results showed that alpha, beta and theta indices could be suitable indicators for evaluating mental fatigue. Also, mental fatigue can be one of the factors that affect the accuracy and performance of individuals, so that it can reduce their attention and efficiency.

Abstract

Background and Objectivse: The employees of an industrial sector, especially the food industry, tackle many problems due to their type of job. Among these staff, non-standard working postures is known as a risk factor for musculoskeletal disorders. Musculoskeletal disorders affect the function and self-efficacy of these people and ultimately leads to a reduction in their performance. Therefore, in this case, research entitled: Study of risk factors of the ergonomic work environment and its relation with self-efficacy and job performance of employees of the food industry has been done.
Methods: A total of 202 people were selected as the sample group using a random sampling method. Then they completed the research questionnaires. The research tools consisted of Paterson's job performance questionnaire, Scherer general self-efficacy, Key Indicator method and a five-point body map questionnaire for assessing body organs discomfort and prevalence. Data was analyzed using SPSS 19.
Results: There was a significant difference between the level of risk of musculoskeletal disorders and their job performance and between the risk of musculoskeletal disorders and the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders. The lower back showed the highest prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders. There was a significant difference between the levels of risk of musculoskeletal disorders with job performance and also between musculoskeletal disorders with job performance and self-efficacy. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between job performance and self-efficacy.
Conclusion: The results indicated the role of self-efficacy in preventing behaviors that lead to exacerbation of musculoskeletal disorders. This will ultimately be reflected in their job performance and both the individual and the organization concerned. Also, employing high self-efficacy staff can improve work performance and productivity and contribute to better production processes.

Abstract

Background and Objectives: One of the major challenges that managers face in competitive organizations is the improvement of the performance and productivity of the organization and understanding the factors affecting them. The promotion of the organizational performance requires managers to focus on the organizational justice and employees’ motivation at work. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between organizational justice and organizational performance in the Health Center of Kermanshah Province.
Methods: The present work was a descriptive-analytic and correlation study. This study was performed on 166 employees of the Health Center of Kermanshah in summer 2019, selected by random sampling. Data were collected using two standard questionnaires: the organizational justice of Nihoff and Morman (1993), and the organizational performance of Hersey and Goldsmith (1980). Reliability of the questionnaires was assessed by the pilot study and Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 16 software.
Results: The results showed that the average scores of the organizational justice and the organizational performance are 54.84± 16.92 and 140.54± 18.66, respectively. According to the results of Pearson correlation coefficient, there is significant relationship between the organizational justice and its dimensions with organizational performance (P<0.001). However, the procedural justice has the more potential to predict the organizational performance.
Conclusion: The organizational justice is an important variable, strongly affecting the organizational performance. Therefore, managers need to pay particular attention to the justice as an important motivating factor for employees in order to improve the organizational performance and productivity.

Abstract

Background and Aim: Undesirable lighting at work environment causes visual and non-visual effects on employers. The aim of this study was to compare the quantity and quality of combined and artificial lighting in daytime and its relationship with the indexes of mental performance.
Methods: This study was carried out at 65 rooms and on 81 employees randomly selected from different clusters. Measurement of lighting parameters was done using a spectrometer. To assess the cognitive function, the Pshycomotor Vigiliance Task (PVT) test and for the sake of visual comfort, alertness and sleep quality, the Conlone, KSS (Karolinska Sleepiness Scale) and PSQI (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) questionnaires were used respectively.
Results: Most artificial sources used in the rooms included fluorescent lights in different shapes and colors. The average indexes of combined lighting was more than artificial lightings (P<0.001). Visual comfort was correlated with high color temperature (P=0.006, r = 0.315). The employees with natural lighting had less visually impairment. The sleep quality of the subjects was related to the type of work environment lighting (Chi2=0.59, P=0.44). Alertness of subjects exposed to high color temperature or natural light was better at 8 and 11 hours. The results of cognitive performance test showed no significant difference between different lighting conditions.
Conclusion: Using natural light or artificial lights with adequate illuminance and high correlated color temperature can increase the alertness and visual comfort to some extent and improve the sleep quality of day staff employers.

Abstract

Background and aim: Nowadays performance management is used to make organizational agility and improve organizational architecture. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of organizational architecture on performance management with the mediating role of organizational agility of physical education departments of country's medical science universities.
Methods: The method is a descriptive-survey research and operational and applied in terms of purpose. The statistics of this study included all senior managers and staff of physical education departments in medical universities throughout Iran, selected as a statistical sample for a total of 216. Data collection tools were organizational architecture questionnaire, Baldrige performance standard questionnaire and Sharifi organizational agility questionnaire. In order to analyze the research findings, path analysis and structural equations and SPSS 20  were used.
Results: It showed that organizational architecture and its dimensions have a significant effect on performance management with the mediating role of organizational agility of physical education departments in medical universities of the country. The magnitude of the effect of the mediating variable using VAF was 0.228 and according to the magnitude of the direct effect of the independent variable on the dependent which was equal to 0.799, it can be said that the magnitude of the direct effect is greater than the indirect effect.
Conclusion: In modern performance management, the aims of staffs and the purposes of the organization should be aligned and by creating coordination and providing the necessary guidance by supervisors, people feel more belonging to the organization and make the organization more agile by organizational changes.

Abstract

Background & Objectives: Nurses, as the largest source of manpower, have a special place in medical affairs and their performance is defined as an effective activity with direct patient care, so it is necessary to study the factors affecting their performance. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the role of work-related psychological components in relation to organizational factors affecting nurses' job performance.
Methods: This research is a descriptive-correlational study of structural equations according to the data collection method. The statistical population of the present study includes all nurses of Seyed Al-Shohada (AS) Hospital in Urmia, Iran (n=265). Using Krejcie and Morgan table, 155 people were selected as a statistical sample using the Relative stratified random sampling method. A questionnaire was used to collect information and after calculating the validity and reliability of the instruments, descriptive and inferential analysis of the data was performed using SPSS 22 and PLS 3 software.
Results: The results of data analysis showed that organizational values, communication satisfaction and charismatic leadership with t-values ​​greater than 1.96 (P value<0.05) mediated by psychological factors have a positive and significant effect on nurses' job performance.
Conclusion: Values, goals, leadership, and communication are factors that go beyond a specific situation and create a sense of satisfaction and performance improvement. Managers increase the ability and capability of nurses by clearly explaining the goals and creating a suitable atmosphere for expressing views, by participating in the affairs of the sense of commitment and ownership, and by holding training courses, and provide the possibility for improving their performance.

Abstract

Background: Exposure to vibration is one of the occupational agents that causes a variety of health effects. The aim of this study was to determine the association between exposure to human vibration and the physical performance of mining drivers.
Methods: In the present study, 65 drivers working in one of the Iron Ore mines, were asked to complete the standard questionnaire for assessing the level of disability of the arm, shoulder and hand (DASH). Exposure to human vibration was measured using Svantek 106 vibrometer. Drivers' physical performance was assessed based on grip strength, Pegboard dexterity, and monofilament finger sensory tests. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21 software.
Results: The average vibration acceleration whole body (WBV) and hand-arm (HAV) were 1.00±0.23 and 2.46±0.68 m/s2 respectively. There was a significant relationship between exposure to HAV and grip strength and hand dexterity (p <0.05). According to the DASH score, 56.9% of drivers had mild and 43.1% had moderate upper limb disability. The results of the multiple regression model with a coefficient of determination of 0.207 showed that the WBV in the presence of other predictor variables had a significant effect on DASH score (p<0.05).
Conclusion: In mining truck drivers, WBV exposure was higher and HAV exposure was lower than the national exposure limits. The results confirmed that WBV caused by mining trucks is the most important risk factor affecting the level of drivers' disability.

Abstract

Background and Objectives: Mental and physical fatigue of airport staff reduces their job standards and productive concentration. The objective of this study was to examine the sleep quality and its effect on cognitive failure and job performance among airport staffs.
Methods: In this descriptive-analytical study, 200 staff of an airport were chosen by simple random sampling method. The data collecting tools were four questionnaires that comprised demographic characteristics, sleep quality, cognitive failures, and job performance. Data was analysed using descriptive statistics and regression tests.
Results: Based on the findings, the mean total scores of the sleep quality, cognitive failures, and job performance were 6.78 ± 3.23, 65.22 ± 20.36 and 39.59 ± 5.59, respectively. The results showed that the mean score of sleep quality in the two areas of sleep latency (1.5 ± 0.82) and sleep duration (1.43 ± 1.05) was higher than other subscales. According to the findings, there was a significant inverse relationship between sleep quality score and cognitive failures score with job performance score (r = -0.195, P < 0.05), While the sleep quality score and cognitive failure score showed a positive and significant correlation (r = 0.389, P < 0.05).
Conclusion: The findings demonstrated a significant relationship between sleep quality and cognitive failure, so that with decreasing this factor, cognitive failure of airport staff also increased and the probability of the human error increased. Therefore, enhancing the sleep quality and comfort by providing ergonomic solutions the cognitive failure in staff and consequently job performance would be greatly prevented.

Abstract

Objectives: The importance of surgery and its high workload are not hidden from anyone. So far, various studies have been conducted with the NASA-TLX instrument and other commonly used instruments to measure surgeons’ workload. The present study seeks to investigate the relationship between the mental workload of surgeons and their productivity through the validation of specialized tools for this job in Iranian culture.
Methods: After checking the validity and reliability of "SURG-TLX" and productivity tools, they were utilized among 60 surgeons to investigate the relationship between their workload and productivity (WHO-HPQ tool). Content validity indices, Cronbach's alpha coefficient and Spearman's correlation coefficient were used to analyse the results.
Results: Both tools had good validity and reliability in Iranian culture. The results of the relationship between mental workload subscales with different dimensions of productivity showed that some dimensions of mental workload including mental needs (correlation coefficient -0.65 and significance level 0.02), physical needs (correlation coefficient -0.54 and significance level 0.04) and time requirements (correlation coefficient -0.44 and significance level 0.02) had a reverse and significant relationship with the overall productivity score. Despite the reverse relationship between the other dimensions of mental workload and the overall productivity score in surgeons, this relationship was not statistically significant. The results indicated a reverse and significant relationship between some of the mental workload and some of the productivity subscales.
Conclusion: In addition to the possibility of using these tools in the future studies in Iran, due to the direct relationship between workload and productivity in surgeons, measures can be taken to maintain the workload at a standard level and prevent the reduction of their productivity.

Abstract

Objectives: Human factors are critical in the design and development of various products, but wideness and unclarity of different aspects of these factors make it difficult to extract demands of users. Studying emotional aspects of users' behavior in interaction with products, as well as interviewing them, is considered as an efficient tool in extracting design demands. This study aims to integrate the application of task analysis and the measuring of emotional aspects to determine the users’ emotional states in the different stages; and therefore extract the user satisfaction criteria.
Methods: This research has a descriptive/ exploratory approach. In this practical study, the use of two everyday tools for chopping onions is analyzed. 20 users of these tools were non-randomly selected to participate in the test and interview. Users performed the task with each tool, and the process was recorded by a camera. After performing the task, subjects completed self-assessment questionnaire and then, an interview was conducted about their experience of the tools usage. Parametric t test was used to evaluate results of the questionnaire and compare averages.
Results: Findings of the emotional questionnaire showed that the emotional states of people in different stages of task are significantly different from each other. The determined emotional states, showed the weaknesses and the advantages of the tools studied. By analyzing videos, interviews and surveys, users' demands were extracted. The extracted features were categorized based on the work steps.
Conclusion: Using this method can reveal precise details of users’ needs concerning product category, which can be used as a suitable tool for designers and researchers in the field of user experience.

Abstract

Objectives: Human-made environments can have negative and positive effects on the planet. One of the two-faceted artifacts is the construction of buildings for people's lives, buildings that are being built irregularly and quickly and lead to excessive consumption of fossil resources and energy waste. Become Therefore, one of the most important things in the design of a building is providing its thermal comfort; Comfort that has a direct effect on the cognitive function of humans. In this research, in addition to the topic of thermal comfort, we also discuss fatigue in the classroom, which is one of the factors influencing the cognitive performance of the students.
Methods: In this research, the cognitive performance of people were examined and compared in the range of thermal comfort and the suggested range of the Ashri standard. To investigate their performance in different temperature ranges, 220 architecture students of Ilam universities were selected by systematic random sampling method. The state of thermal comfort, cognitive functions, and fatigue of people was evaluated after measuring environmental factors through questionnaires and standard cognitive function software.
Results: In addition to thermal comfort, which has a direct relationship with the cognitive performance of students, the passage of time is not an exception to this rule, in other words, the cognitive performance of students is derived from thermal comfort and the passage of time, which has a direct effect on academic, mental productivity. and also their practical efficiency. After examining the data in this regard, we reached meaningful results that indicate the highest efficiency of the students in the conditions of proper thermal comfort and the first 60 minutes of the start of their performance.
Conclusion: The results of this research show that even if the thermal comfort of the students' classrooms is provided according to the ASHERI standard, the students' cognitive performance will decrease after 60 minutes from the start of the class.

Abstract

Objectives: School counselors are responsible for addressing academic, personal/social, and career development needs through the design, implementation, evaluation, and enhancement of a comprehensive school counseling program that results in improved student achievement. Therefore The aim of this research was to investigate the effectiveness of the intervention based on the empowerment model on the job performance of school counselors.
Methods: The method of the current research was a mixed sequential exploratory type. For this purpose, a semi-experimental method with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group was used to check the effectiveness of the training package. The statistical population of the research included all the school counselors working in the first secondary school of Ardabil city (areas 1 and 2) in the academic year 2021-2022, among them based on the cut-off point of the school counselor occupational performance scale (score 86) and taking into account the entry criteria For the research, 30 people were selected as a sample by random sampling method and according to the results of the pre-test, they were randomly replaced in two experimental and control groups (15 people in each group). The members of the experimental group received the desired educational content in one introductory session and 11 sessions of 120 minutes, while the members of the control group did not receive any intervention. The follow-up test was also done after 3 months. The obtained data were analyzed using spss software and multivariate analysis of covariance test.
Results: The results showed that the intervention based on empowerment has a positive and significant effect on the job performance components of school counselors. This means that school counselors as a result of participating in training sessions based on the empowerment model, in the dimensions of knowledge (F = 0.20 and P = 0.001), skills (F = 0.69 and P = 0.001) and attitude and behavior (F=0.47 and P=0.001) had a positive and significant performance.
Conclusion: Teaching the content related to the empowerment model is an effective way to improve the performance of school counselors.

Abstract

Objectives: The current qualitative study aimed to understand the factors affecting the optimal performance of bus drivers using the macro ergonomics approach and the work systems model. This topic is important as it addresses significant gaps in the existing literature regarding the ergonomic and systemic factors influencing driver performance.
Methods: In this study, 13 in-depth interviews were conducted with bus drivers. A qualitative content analysis of the data was performed using MAXQDA2020 software after data collection. Codes were extracted based on nine categories of factors affecting performance related to the five components of the work system: organizational, individual, environmental, task, and technology.
Results: The analysis revealed that employees reported low performance mainly due to organizational structural problems and managerial characteristics. These findings highlight the critical role of organizational factors in driver performance.
Conclusion: The results indicate that ergonomic interventions targeting organizational structural issues and managerial practices could significantly improve the performance and satisfaction of bus drivers. The insights gained from this research can inform practical interventions to improve the working conditions and overall performance of this occupational group. These findings contribute to the field by providing a direction for enhancing the work system to better support driver performance.

Abstract

Objectives: The phenomenon of work-family conflict in organizations leads to important consequences, such as job burnout, emotional burnout, reduced job performance, and decreased individual well-being. Based on this, the aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of work-family conflict on the emotional burnout of teachers in Qom City with the moderating role of organizational support.
Methods: The research was conducted based on structural equation modeling, and the statistical population included all teachers in Qom, totaling 3,864 people, of whom 390 were selected as a sample using the Cochran formula and stratified random sampling method. Three questionnaires of work-family conflict, emotional burnout, and organizational support were used. Research data analysis was performed using SPSS version 26 and Pls software at descriptive (frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation) and inferential levels (structural equation model).
Results: The path coefficient of the variables showed that work-family conflict on emotional burnout (Beta=0.625, t=19.45, P=0.000) had a positive and significant effect, and perceived organizational support had a negative and significant effect on emotional burnout (Beta=0.127, t=-2.97; P=0.004).
Conclusion: Organizational support can have a moderating role in the relationship between work-family conflict and burnout. Therefore, the more the individual and his/her environmental conditions can control work-family conflict, and the more support the individual perceives from the organization, the less emotional burnout the individual will experience. Therefore, in addition to the courses it holds to increase teachers' knowledge in specialized fields, the education organization can also hold courses aimed at preparing them psychologically to deal with such stressful situations, which are sometimes unavoidable given today's life and improve their self-control and self-management skills to manage these situations.

Abstract

Objectives: Cognitive failures are important for reducing accidents and improving performance, and they depend on multiple factors. Given that this issue has received less attention among midwives, the present study aimed to determine the status of cognitive failures concerning individual factors and personality traits among midwives.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in the summer of 2024 on 211 midwives working in Kermanshah province in Iran. The samples were selected using a convenience sampling method. In addition, a standard three-part questionnaire was used. The first part included demographic information, and the second and third parts included questions from the Cognitive Failures Questionnaire and the short form of the NEO Personality Inventory. Moreover, data were analyzed using the SPSS (version 24) software.
Results: The mean age and work experience of the midwives participating in this study were 36.22±8.03 years and 10.38±7.85 years, respectively. The overall scores for cognitive failures in memory, action, and attention were 16.79±3.04, 17.41±2.80, and 16.30±3.62, in respective order. The results revealed a positive relationship between age, work experience, and body mass index (BMI) with cognitive failures and a negative relationship between exercising and cognitive failures. Neuroticism, agreeableness, and openness were positively related to cognitive failures, while conscientiousness was negatively related to cognitive failures.
Conclusion: The status of cognitive failures in the action dimension was more unfavorable than the other two dimensions. Some individual and personality traits were directly, and others inversely related to cognitive failures. Further research in this area is necessary.

Abstract

Objectives: Health centers are the first level to provide care, and job performance is important to achieving the goals of the health systems. One of the factors that affects job performance is organizational culture. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the relationship between organizational culture and employee job performance.
Methods: The present cross-sectional study (descriptive-analytical) was conducted on 210 employees in one of the health centers of Kermanshah province using the census method in the years 2021-2022. Standard questionnaires were used to collect information, including the Denison Standard Organizational Culture Questionnaire and the Employee Job Performance Evaluation Questionnaire. The collected information was entered into SPSS (version 25) software and analyzed with statistical tests. A significance level of less than 0.05 was considered.
Results: There is a direct and significant relationship between the dimensions of organizational culture and employee job performance (P<0.05). Age and work experience had an inverse relationship with the dimensions of employee job performance (quality of work and initiative). Gender had a significant relationship with the organizational leadership dimension, and marital status had a significant relationship with initiative (P<0.05).
Conclusion: Organizational culture has a direct and significant relationship with the dimensions of employee job performance; therefore, by improving organizational culture, we can witness effective and sustainable changes in job performance. In addition, some demographic variables are also related to the level of employee job performance, and organization managers should pay attention to these variables when hiring.
